There is no lift pump in the tank on any of the Focus Mk2 Diesel cars, 1.8, 1.6, 2L. The main diesel pump has to do all of the work of sucking fuel up out of the tank. That is why air in fuel lines can be such a problem. First time poster here, got my 07 MK2 Focus about two weeks ago. It's a 1.8 Petrol Focus Sport, manual. I've noticed than when I'm coming to a stop, from any speed. I press the clutch in as normal before coming to a stop and the revs drop to about 500, sometimes when cold it cuts out at this point instead of bouncing back to idle rpm. rhyds. Of course this wasn't a fair like-for-like comparison because the sound insulation was probably better on the Ghia. Ford Focus 1.8 petrol erratic idle - Snakey.
